A two-hour daily study plan works best when those hours have different jobs: recall, learning, practice and reviewing mistakes. Start with the hours you can repeat alongside work, then check whether the remaining syllabus fits. A timetable cannot turn an impossible workload into a feasible one.
The plan below is a worked example for someone with two hours available on six days each week. It is not a tested intervention or a promise of a particular score. Download the weekly timetable CSV to adapt it.
First check whether your workload fits
Six study days multiplied by two hours gives 12 hours per week. Over eight weeks, that is 96 hours before interruptions. Reserving one two-hour session each week for catch-up leaves 80 hours of scheduled work. That buffer is an example planning choice, not a scientifically established percentage.
Estimate your remaining tasks in hours. Include question practice and review, not just lectures. Suppose you need 40 hours for unfinished topics, 24 for practice and 16 for revision. That totals 80 hours and fits the example budget. If your list needs 120 hours, change the scope, timeline or available time before filling the calendar.
Use one week of actual study to improve the estimate. If a chapter takes twice as long as expected, update the remaining chapters rather than assuming you will suddenly become twice as fast.
A two-hour session you can repeat

These are focused study minutes. Add breaks outside the two-hour total, or shorten the blocks if your entire available window includes breaks. Do not label a 150-minute routine a two-hour plan.
If you study before and after work, split the session into two one-hour blocks. Put the task that requires the most concentration into whichever window you usually complete reliably. Keep the other window suitable for reviewing errors or a shorter practice set.

Replace A, B and C with your actual subjects. For a test with a paper longer than two hours, arrange a separate uninterrupted window for a full simulation. Splitting a paper may still provide question practice, but it does not reproduce the full test conditions.
Why include recall rather than only reading?
A review by Dunlosky and colleagues rated practice testing and distributed practice as broadly useful learning techniques. That supports making room for recall and revisiting material. It does not validate our exact 20/40/40/20 allocation or show that MyStudyPlanner improves exam outcomes.
Start recall with a concrete prompt: “Can I solve a reverse percentage question without notes?” is more useful than “Revise maths.” Check your answer after the attempt and record what needs correction.
What to do when work consumes a study day
Keep the next day's normal time limit. Move the most important unfinished task into the weekly buffer. If that buffer is already full, replace a lower-priority task or reduce the scope of the week. Avoid adding every missed hour onto tomorrow.
